You’ve reached Candy Crush level 42. Very nice work! Now, it’s time for another ingredient level. It took me a little while to beat this level, but I finally did and compiled all of my tips for doing so here.
Your path is blocked by many licorice cages. Don’t let them intimidate you, however. Just follow these hints and you’ll be moving on in no time. Also, don’t forget to check out our other guides for Candy Crush if you ever get stuck.

Tip #1
Your first priority is to clear as many of the licorice cages as you can. They are always harder to remove if an ingredient is resting on top of them. Remember, a vertically striped candy can clear both cages in a single column. If you can put together a wrapped and striped candy combination, you can remove a large number of cages in a single shot. Don’t miss such an opportunity!

Tip #2
While it’s important to remove the cages, don’t forget about your ingredients. If you can make a move that will bring the ingredient closer to the bottom then do it. The only exception is if a cage is still in the column with the ingredient. Again, ingredients can get in the way when attempting to clear them. It’s important to know when to work on clearing space and when to move an ingredient.

Tip #3
Don’t forget your special candies. Even after the cages are removed, these candies can be the difference between victory and defeat (much as they will be once you’re trying to beat level 140). Remember, these candies won’t eliminate any candies held under a licorice cage. This means that you cannot collect an ingredient from a column that has a cage with a striped candy. However, you will eliminate the most challenging obstacle and move the ingredient much closer to the goal.

Tip #4
Keep in mind, ingredients need space to enter the board. If you only cleared one side of cages, try to limit any combinations to that side. This will ensure that the next ingredient will fall into a column that already has an open path to the collection zone.
And that’s all it takes. With 50 moves and only 4 ingredients you shouldn’t have many issues. Just be sure to consider and double-check every move you make. Once you beat this level, the next one should be a piece of cake for you.
