Get ready for a bit of a battle with Candy Crush level 85, which I found to be merely a minor preview of what’s to come with the next level. Although you have a maximum of 50 moves for this round, there are many obstacles that you have to clear to beat the objective.
For one, there are a total of eight ingredients to bring down. Half of the board is covered by meringues and chocolates, and some licorice swirls drop down from the top every now and then. Sound like fun? It looked impossible to me at first, and this level might be considered as hard by most players. However, my strategies below combined with my other strategies for Candy Crush Saga might help you win this level in short time.
- Objective: Bring down the ingredients and score at least 110,000 points.
- Moves: 50
- Stars: 1 star = 110,000 points; 2 stars = 150,000 points; 3 stars = 180,000 points
The first thing that you need to do is to clear your way to the bottom. You can’t drop the ingredients if you do not get rid of the chocolates and meringues first, so focus on removing as much meringues, chocolates, and licorice swirls as you can before focusing on the ingredients.
A special candy fit for this purpose is a wrapped candy, which can clear multiple surrounding candies and blockers in one move. Try to position the wrapped candy near the blockers before activating it.

You should also make many striped vertical candies, since these can hit meringues and chocolates in one blow. However, you should also know that licorice swirls can deflect them, so once it removes a swirl, the rest of the blockers and candies below it will not be removed. Still, vertical striped candies are helpful in bringing down ingredients when there are no licorice swirls involved. Try to activate these vertical striped candies in columns where there are multiple ingredients.

The presence of replicating chocolates can limit your moves, so prioritize getting rid of them over bringing down the ingredients. Chocolates can be easily removed by making adjacent moves to it. Clear them first so that you can take advantage of a bigger board, which will help you make special candy combinations that can bring down your ingredients.
You have 50 moves to do all of these, so don’t worry too much and just stick to the strategies mentioned above.
Remember how I said this level would only be a tiny preview of what’s to come? Well, get ready for level 86 of Candy Crush, which is what I consider one of the most difficult stages in the game yet.
