Beyond any doubt, this is one of the most important foundational tips you could ever learn for playing Candy Crush Saga. And it can pretty much be universally applied to any level in the game. If you have any choice in the matter whatsoever, always always always try to work from the bottom of the board up. I’d even go so far as to say you should check the bottom of the board for more candies to crush after every single move, just to be certain you’re not missing something.
“When in doubt, crush on bottom.”
Study this phrase, really take it to heart, and never look back. There are only a few level exceptions to this rule in the game. However, when and if those exceptions ever come up, I’ll detail the alternative strategy you should use for that level in one of my level guides here on ReadyGamer.
13. Mastering the Striped Candies
It’s critical for new players to learn early on how striped candies are made, and how the direction of the stripes on the candy will affect every subsequent move they make.
Main take away: the stripes on a striped candy form in the identical direction as the last candy you maneuvered into the match. If you move a candy up or down into a 4-of-the-same-color line formation, you will create a vertical striped candy. If you move the candy left or right into the match, you will create a horizontal striped candy. The direction of the stripes on the candy indicates which way the candy will “explode” upon maneuvering the striped candy into another match. Vertical striped candies will explode up and down, horizontal striped candies will explode left and right.
Some players on ReadyGamer pick up on this fairly quickly after playing the game for a period of time, while other players will never understand why certain striped candies have horizontal stripes and some have vertical stripes. Consider yourself one of the lucky few who now have a better grasp on how to manipulate these stripes to wage absolute candy crushing dominance on any level you wish.
